What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your browser when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — for example, your language preference or whether you have already accepted a notice.

Cookies do not contain personal information on their own; they store short identifiers that let a website recognise your browser from one page to the next, or from one visit to the next.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can adjust your browser settings at any time to block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how some parts of a site work.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always active

These are necessary for the website to function. They cannot be switched off because the site would not operate correctly without them.

  • Session management — keeping your place as you move between pages
  • Security — helping detect unusual activity
  • Cookie consent state — remembering your preferences

Duration: Session (deleted when you close your browser) or up to 12 months for preference storage.

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read most, where people arrive from, and where they leave. This lets us improve content and navigation over time.

  • Page view counts and time on page
  • Traffic source information (search, direct, referral)
  • Device and browser type (aggregated, not individual)

Duration: Up to 13 months. Provider: Google Analytics (anonymised).

Marketing Cookies

These allow us to understand whether visitors came from an advertisement and whether they proceeded to enquire. We use this only to assess the value of our own advertising, not to build profiles for third-party use.

  • Conversion tracking from paid search
  • Campaign attribution

Duration: Up to 90 days.

Preference Cookies

These remember small choices you have made — such as whether a notice has been dismissed — so you are not asked repeatedly on return visits.

  • Dismissed notice state
  • Language or region settings (if applicable)

Duration: Up to 12 months.

Your Cookie Preferences

Use the toggles above to set your preferences, then save below. Essential cookies are always active and cannot be changed.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services. We have no direct control over those cookies, but we only embed services where the usage is proportionate to the benefit.

  • Google Analytics — used to count page visits and understand general traffic patterns. Data is anonymised before processing.
  • Google Maps — an embedded map on our homepage may set cookies related to map interaction. These are governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We do not embed social media plugins or advertising networks that track browsing across other websites.
